Streaking Wranglers Win Another One, 5-1
|
The Dallas Wranglers got a stellar effort from pitcher Steve Coomes, helping Dallas score a win over the visiting Twin Cities Northmen, 5-1. The Wranglers, now 10-3, have been on fire in the early going.
The Wranglers got a big at-bat from first baseman Lanny Johnson. For the game, Johnson was 1-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Dallas a 2-1 lead.
"We'll savor this win," Coomes told the Dallas Times, "then get ready for the next game."
