Quakers Win, Now 64-62
|
Rollie Rumler, who is a two-time All-Star, pitched well, but the Cincinnati Packers still fell short, losing, 4-0, to the Philadelphia Quakers at Roman Arena. Fred Harrison snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 4.1 innings. He's now 10-7 on the season. Philadelphia is now 64-62, Cincinnati 55-71.
Ron Ferguson had a direct impact on the outcome. Ferguson contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Philadelphia up, 3-0.
"We took home the win," said Ferguson. "What's not to like?"
