Burros Prevail, 4-2, Over Chicago

The Denver Burros picked up a win at Gates Crescent Park, knocking off the Chicago Traders, 4-2. On the mound for Denver was right-hander Willie Purter. He played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Purter, now 9-6. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Bob Langham earned the save for Denver, his 20th of the year.
Guillaume Moret, who leads the NBL in bases on balls with 135, chipped in a solo home run for Denver in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Denver manager Clark Anderson.
The Burros bumped their record to 76-53 with this latest triumph.
