Quakers Paste 10-5 Loss on Packers
The Philadelphia Quakers beat the Cincinnati Packers by a score of 10-5. Philadelphia shortstop Mark Bassett deserved the lion's share of the credit. Bassett went 2-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Quakers. Arnold Jarry was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he yielded 5 runs on 10 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Cincinnati's current losing streak is now 4 games.

With Philadelphia trailing 4-2 in the top of the fifth, Bassett hit a sinker from Chris Montgomery for a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Quakers ahead, 6-4.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.
