A 4-RBI performance from the 27-year old first baseman Mike Bennett helped the Brooklyn Bluebirds beat the Washington Eagles, 8-4. The Brooklyn win streak is now 3 games.

Brooklyn used the timely hitting of Tim Brackbill to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bluebirds on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I thought we competed really well," said Bluebirds manager John Meeker. "I thought the energy was really good."
