The Pittsburgh Industrials got a superb performance from pitcher Dennis Visco, but the Los Angeles Blockbusters still won the game, 2-1. Visco threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The 4th-place Blockbusters lifted their record to 63-64.

It could have been a different outcome for Los Angeles, had it not been for Oscar Gonzalez, the slugging right fielder . Gonzalez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Los Angeles up, 2-1.

"We did just enough to win," Gonzalez said.
