Terriers Deal New York 6-2 Defeat
|
Queens Field was the site for American Baseball League action featuring the New York Empires and Boston Terriers.
Boston Terriers left-hander Bruce Shurtleff pitched a good game against the New York Empires at Queens Field, leading his team to victory, 6-2. The defeat makes New York 8-5.
With Boston leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Shurtleff hit a 2-run single off New York hurler Andy Humphrey. It was the 3rd hit of the season for Shurtleff and put his team ahead, 4-1.
"Bruce did what Bruce does," said Boston manager David Molina.
