Packers Win, 1-0, at Denver
|
In a tight tilt between the Cincinnati Packers and the Denver Burros, John Stoddard was the deciding factor. The Cincinnati left-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Kenny Foster earned the save for Cincinnati, his 3rd of the year. The loss drops Denver to 8-5.
John Hembree, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1972 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hembree contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Cincinnati up, 1-0.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Stoddard said.
