Explorers Come Up Short at Kansas City, 4-3
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Kansas City Bulls take on the St. Louis Explorers.

The Kansas City Bulls picked up a win at Independence Field, downing the St. Louis Explorers, 4-3. On the mound for Kansas City was right-hander Bob Crosby, who played a pivotal role in the win. Crosby got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 7 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. He allowed 3 runs.

Hank Cummings had a big 2-run home run for the Bulls in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Kansas City leading 2-1 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a sinker from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Harlan Estes and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Bulls on top, 4-1.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Cummings said.

The win gives Kansas City a record of 8-6.
