Chicago second baseman Rafael Fuentes had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Fuentes went 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs, even as Denver beat the Traders, 7-6. The win belonged to Joe Hamby in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Craig Hardage took the loss for Chicago. Denver goes to 7-7.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Guillermo Morales came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Chicago pitcher Craig Hardage, he hit a 0-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Denver on top, 7-6.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Morales.
