The San Francisco Seagulls topped the Montreal Habitants, 7-3, in American Baseball League action at LaSalle Stadium. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco pitcher and San Jose, California, native Jerry Patrick. Patrick, now 16-8, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. The win lifted the San Francisco record to 80-50.

With San Francisco trailing 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Patrick hit a 2-run single off Montreal hurler Erv Koenig. It was the 22nd hit of the season for Patrick and put his team ahead, 2-1.
