Duprey Shuts Out Bulls, 7-0
|
The Kansas City Bulls had no answer for Los Angeles Blockbusters pitcher Billy Duprey. They failed to score a single run against him, losing, 7-0. Kansas City managed only 4 hits off Duprey, who had 8 strikeouts.
The extraordinarily popular Duprey got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd.
"Blockbusters fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances, but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."
This year, Duprey has posted a record of 12 wins and 12 losses with a 3.70 ERA. He has appeared in 26 games and struck out 139 in 185 innings.
