Underwood Hits 2 home runs in Knickerbockers Win
Bob Underwood was a major contributor to the 8-5 New York win over Cincinnati. The Knickerbockers right fielder went 4-5 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Wayne Houston notched his 14th save in 17 chances. With the win, New York has a record of 64-67. Cincinnati falls to 60-70.

New York used the timely hitting of Rick Hotz to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Knickerbockers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's still just a game," said Hotz, "whether you win or lose."
