|
The Philadelphia Quakers picked up a win at Quakers Stadium, topping the New York Knickerbockers, 6-1. On the mound for Philadelphia was right-hander Art Wohlt. He played a principal role in the triumph. The victory gives Philadelphia a record of 76-55.
Philadelphia third baseman Joe Voss contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a cutter to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 82nd hit of the season and put the Quakers ahead, 3-0.
"Art mixed and matched," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.
