Eagles LF Golick has 3 hits in Win

The Washington Eagles dealt the Denver Burros a 4-2 loss at Monument Field. Randy Golick, who finished 2nd in the NBL in on-base percentage with .373 in 1965, was the star on offense. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. David Rodriquez, the winner, goes to 6-10. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts over 6 innings. The Eagles raised their record to 62-69.
Washington took a 4-1 lead on Golick's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Bart Dunsley in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Washington to the win.
Said losing manager Clark Anderson: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
