Chicago Keeps Spiraling Downward

The San Francisco Seagulls picked up a win at Hyde Park Stadium, knocking off the Chicago Hawks, 2-0. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Jerry Patrick. He played a key role in the triumph. Dave Maughan, credited with the save, is now 5 for 8 in save opportunities. The losses continue to add up for Chicago, having now dropped 8 straight.
With San Francisco leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Patrick hit a slider from Bill Hill for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Seagulls ahead, 2-0.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Patrick said.
