Lakefront Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Cleveland Bobcats and Brooklyn Bluebirds.

The Brooklyn Bluebirds picked up a win at Lakefront Stadium, topping the Cleveland Bobcats, 2-1. On the mound for Brooklyn was right-hander Dick Conway. He played a principal role in the triumph. Conway, the winner, moves to 1-3. He threw 7 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 4 walks. Bob Hill converted his 23rd save in 30 tries.

Ron Eubanks, the 19th overall pick in the 1973 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Eubanks contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Brooklyn up, 2-1.

"All my pitches were working," said Conway. "They were all synchronized together in attacking the zone."

The Bluebirds improved their record to 63-67 with the win over Cleveland.
