Habitants Sneak Past Terriers, 3-2
|
Montreal turned a good performance from starting pitcher Bob Schar into a 3-2 triumph over the Boston Terriers at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Hervé Lelièvre recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 15 for 18. Boston, at 42-88, has lost 5 straight.
Jim Compton came through with a big-time hit for Montreal. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Bob was dictating to their hitters," said Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
