Earl Yates had a good game, but he could not keep the Pittsburgh Industrials from falling, 6-4, to the Brooklyn Bluebirds at Allegheny Field. The Pittsburgh catcher was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once in the loss. The winner in relief was Bob Hill. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-3. Today's win puts Brooklyn at 68-65, while Pittsburgh falls to 78-55.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ron Eubanks? The 25-year old center fielder Eubanks stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Brooklyn up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
