Houston beat Montreal on the strength of starting pitcher Larry Bilski's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-1. The win gives Houston a season record of 76-56.

The Drillers got a big at-bat from right fielder Jackie Frost. For the game, Frost was 3-5 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Houston a 1-0 lead.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Houston manager Tom Harrington.
