Slide Continues for Hurons
|
The Toronto Hurons were defeated, 4-2, by the New York Empires at Dominion Field, even though Tom DeGagne pitched well for Toronto. Toronto has now lost 6 in a row.
The Empires had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 4-2, New York, with no one out. Toronto, with the bases empty, was mounting a threat. Steve Holley dug in at the plate, but on a 2-2 changeup, he struck out.
