Knickerbockers 7-5 Winners Versus Brooklyn
The New York Knickerbockers knocked off the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 7-5, at Flatbush Park. Jeff Madsen was a big reason New York won. The left fielder went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs. Picking up the win was Ray Schifsky. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 0. Ollie Hundley locked down his 5th save.

New York shortstop Dwayne Lamons contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 15th hit of the season and put the Knickerbockers ahead, 5-3.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Lamons.

The win gives New York a record of 9-5.
