Gould Now 13-8 After Beating Packers
New York and Cincinnati duked it out and the Knickerbockers came out victorious.

Vern Gould pitched a gem to lead New York to victory over the Cincinnati Packers, 2-0. Ollie Hundley got the save, his 7th in 11 chances.

Gould allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8.1 innings for the Knickerbockers. With the win, he is 13-8 with an ERA of 2.69.

"Vern is tough when he's hitting his spots," said New York manager Sean Kelly.

The Knickerbockers improved their record to 64-68 with the win over Cincinnati.
