The Washington Eagles defeated the Cleveland Bobcats, 7-3, in part because of right fielder John Stites. Stites was 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Eagles. The Washington win streak is now 3 games.

Washington took a 4-3 lead on Rich Wagstaff's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Wagstaff hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Cleveland pitcher John Stoddard visibly frustrated.

"I thought we competed really well," said Eagles manager Brandon Tucker. "I thought the energy was really good."
