Wranglers Score Late to Beat Northmen, 3-2
|
The Dallas Wranglers took Twin Cities pitcher Bob Freeland's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Bluff Park. The final score had Dallas getting past the Northmen, 3-2. Freeland went 5.2 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 5. Dallas reliever Frank Dunn picked up the win, while Rick Lindstrom took the loss for Twin Cities. The win puts Dallas at 72-60 this season.
Dallas took a 3-2 lead on John Hammit's 9th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Hammit hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Twin Cities pitcher Rick Lindstrom visibly frustrated.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
