New York Makes It 6 Straight with 5-3 Win
Wet weather did not postpone the New York-Pittsburgh ballgame.

Despite a fine performance by left fielder Don Keough, the Pittsburgh Industrials lost to the New York Knickerbockers, 5-3. Keough went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. New York reliever Tracy Carpenter snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bob Cole shouldered the loss. Jose Espinoza recorded the save, his 6th.

Ray Zink came through with a big-time hit for New York. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Zink said.

With their winning streak at 6, the Knickerbockers have raced to a strong start this season.
