Late Rally by Bluebirds Seals 4th Straight Win
|
Brooklyn got a strong outing from Rod Henry as the Bluebirds defeated the St. Louis Explorers, 4-2, at Corps of Discovery Stadium. Earning the save was Dave Norman. He's now cashed in 25 of 31 save opportunities. The win lifted the Brooklyn record to 70-65.
Brooklyn used the timely hitting of Toby Golf to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bluebirds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood.
