Twin Cities Beats Seattle, 3-1
|
Twin Cities got a strong outing from Dave Church as the Northmen defeated the Seattle Emeralds, 3-1, at Puget Field. The winning pitcher was Church, now 13-8. He tossed 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2. Joe Gibson converted his 17th save in 21 tries.
Twin Cities used the timely hitting of Eddie Hernandez to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Northmen on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Hernandez.
The 6th-place Emeralds have dropped 5 straight games.
