The New York Knickerbockers picked up a win at Knickerbocker Stadium, dropping the Kansas City Bulls, 4-0. Sid Shafer was the difference-maker. New York is now 65-68, while Kansas City is 75-59.
Steve Wells took Kansas City hurler Skip Carter deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 3-run home run put the Knickerbockers on top, 3-0. In all, Wells had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"I made a lot of good pitches," said Shafer. "I was right where I wanted to be."
