Seagulls Trip Hurons, 4-3, in Extra Innings
|
San Francisco starter Tim Stambaugh pitched well against the Toronto Hurons at Dominion Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 14 innings. With the win, San Francisco upped its record to 79-54.
John Cobb, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1969 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Cobb contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 14th inning to put San Francisco up, 4-3.
"Tim did a good job of managing their lineup," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
