The Cleveland Bobcats defeated the Milwaukee Dairymen, 5-4. Doing his part was left fielder Rick Gruber, who was 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the win was Roger Scherf. He went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 1. Cleveland is now 78-57, Milwaukee 54-80.

Had Gruber not come through in the top of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Gruber hit a 2-run single. The Bobcats took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Gruber.
