In a low-scoring affair between the New York Knickerbockers and the Washington Eagles, pitcher Jack Forbes was the difference between victory and defeat. The New York right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-0 Knickerbockers win. Wayne Houston locked down his 3rd save.

The Knickerbockers prevailed in a game in which the pitchers had the upper hand.

"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Forbes.

The Knickerbockers, now 10-4, have been sizzling early on.
