Terriers Beaten By Generals, 6-1
|
Bill Davis, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1968 draft, never let the Terriers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his screwball, to pitch the Generals to a win, 6-1. Davis, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1968 draft, went the distance for Atlanta. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. The Terriers fall to 5-9 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1972 season.
Atlanta used the hitting of Danny Bleicher to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Generals on top, 2-0. For the game, Bleicher had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Bleicher told the Atlanta News.
