The Montreal Habitants scooped up a win at LaSalle Stadium, dumping the Detroit Wolverines, 7-1. Manny Esparza, who led the ABL in ERA with 2.04 in 1969, was essential to his team's success. The victory gives the Habitants a record of 75-59.

Montreal took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Oscar Corte hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Habitants.

Esparza attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
