Seagulls Suffer One-Run Loss at Toronto
|
Toronto pitcher Ben Immel did his part in helping his team beat the San Francisco Seagulls, 2-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Immel, now 9-12, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Steve Persenaire earned his 10th save in 12 tries.
Bill Hunt helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Hurons.
Immel said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Today's win puts Toronto at 66-69, while San Francisco falls to 81-52.
