The Chicago Traders defeated the New York Knickerbockers, 5-2. Doing his part was right fielder Jimmy Benson, who went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. With the win, the Traders have a record of 70-65.
Chicago took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Jeff Madsen hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Traders.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Madsen said after the game.
