The Denver Burros got a stellar effort from pitcher Willie Purter, helping Denver score a win over the visiting Kansas City Bulls, 4-2. The Bulls, now 41-96, have lost 14 in a row.

Ricardo Castillo dealt the Bulls a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Denver leading 2-1, Castillo hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single.

"It's going to click," said Kansas City manager DD Martin. "It's just a matter of when."
