The Dallas Wranglers dealt the Twin Cities Northmen a 6-4 loss at Bluff Park. Dick Howard, who finished 4th in the NBL in wins above replacement with 7.1 in 1971, was the star on offense. He was 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Early on, the Wranglers, at 10-4, have excelled.

Dallas got a knockout punch from Mike Weatherby. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
