The Los Angeles Blockbusters beat the Denver Burros, 6-5. Los Angeles pitcher and Guamúchil, Mexico, native Dario Fontanez led the way. The last-place Blockbusters have won 4 straight games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Harvey Katzen in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 2-run double off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Rick Morton to win the game for Los Angeles. The home crowd went nuts.

"Dario made his pitches," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch.
