The Twin Cities Northmen picked up a win at Hyde Park Stadium, knocking off the Chicago Hawks, 9-4. Starting pitcher Syed Farooqi was a big reason why. Chicago is 7-7 after the defeat.

The Northmen got a big hit from catcher Rick Giardina. Facing Chicago pitcher Leonardo Ibarra in the top of the eighth, Giardina pounded a run-scoring double to right. His 1st double of the season put the Northmen ahead, 5-3.

"Syed set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim.
