Blockbusters 3-1 Winners Versus Washington
The Los Angeles Blockbusters, behind a great outing from Billy Duprey, who finished 2nd in the NBL in strikeouts with 185 in 1970, defeated the Washington Eagles, 3-1, at Blockbuster Stadium. Los Angeles is now 61-76, while Washington is 59-78.

The Blockbusters benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the seventh. With Jim Brookins at bat and Los Angeles leading 2-1, the Washington miscue allowed Los Angeles to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.

Brookins called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
