Knickerbockers Rack Up 6-3 Win Versus St. Louis
|
Though he had a terrific game, Freddie Boone could not prevent his team, the St. Louis Explorers, from absorbing a loss. New York won the game, 6-3. Boone went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. New York is now 67-69, St. Louis 66-70.
The Knickerbockers got a big at-bat from right fielder Bob Underwood. For the game, Underwood went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 19th home run of the season gave New York a 5-2 lead.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Underwood.
