The Dallas Wranglers defeated the Houston Drillers, 8-3, in American Baseball League action at Sam Houston Field. Dallas pitcher Albert Green had a standout performance. Dallas reliever Albert Green got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jerry Zaruba was tagged with the loss. Dallas is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 15 games.

Dallas used the hitting of Steve Walp to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Wranglers on top, 2-1. For the game, Walp had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Green expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
