Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Quakers
The Philadelphia Quakers faced a tough opponent in Washington pitcher Arnold Jarry, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Quakers Stadium by a final score of 8-7. Jarry went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Bill Kaiser in relief. His record improves to 6-5. Alberto Vinueza took the loss. The 4th-place Quakers lifted their record to 68-69.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Philadelphia right fielder Jeff Murchison, facing Alberto Vinueza, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Quakers the 8-7 win.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jeff Green.
