Multi-HR Game for Abarca in 3-1 Win
|
New York second baseman Javier Abarca contributed significantly to his team's 3-1 win over the Dallas Wranglers. Abarca, the 15th overall pick in the 1969 draft, went 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Empires. Jack Pratt converted his 4th save in 4 tries. The 5th-place Empires are now 66-71, the Wranglers 67-71.
Rick Lintner, who is tied for 8th in the ABL with a .367 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lintner contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put New York up, 2-1.
Abarca called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
