Kansas City Makes It 7 Straight with 7-3 Win
|
The Kansas City Bulls beat the New York Knickerbockers, 7-3, at Independence Field. Kansas City second baseman Danny Phillips had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Kansas City pitcher Ray McGuire got the win, upping his record to 9-3. Tim McGovern got the loss. Kansas City has now reeled off 7 straight wins.
Phillips had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Tim McGovern, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Bulls a 7-3 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Phillips.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager DD Martin.
