Generals Take Down Hawks, 9-6
Wayne Baker made an impact in the 9-6 Atlanta win over Chicago. Baker, who finished 3rd in the NBL in triples with 15 in 1967, was 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Atlanta pitcher Renie White earned the win, hiking his record to 4-3. Alfredo Alvarado suffered the loss. With the victory, the Generals upped their record to 69-69.

Roberto Palacios went 1-5 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Atlanta. The 29-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Alfredo Alvarado. It was his 72nd walk of the season.

"Their at-bats were really impressive against us," said losing manager Mike Flaherty.
