Quakers Lose at Home, 8-6
|
Washington and Philadelphia duked it out and the Eagles came out victorious.
Washington right fielder Mike Lockhart was a significant contributor in his team's 8-6 triumph over the Philadelphia Quakers. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 4 runs for the Eagles. The Eagles, at 64-75, sit in last place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.
Larry Moses was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI for Washington. The five-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Juan Ramirez. It was his 32nd RBI of the season.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Lockhart told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
