Davalos Homers Twice in 7-2 Win
|
The exploits of first baseman David Davalos, who finished 4th in the NBL in batting average with .326 in 1969, helped the Twin Cities Northmen defeat the Detroit Wolverines, 7-2. Davalos hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Syed Farooqi. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 2. Twin Cities has now won 4 straight.
Early in the game, Davalos had a 2-run home run for Twin Cities. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Northmen on top, 2-0.
