Industrials Roll to 8-1 Win Over Blockbusters
The Pittsburgh Industrials downed the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 8-1, at Blockbuster Stadium. Stellar pitching by Frank Combs had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is the 1973 Royal Ricketts Award winner, handcuffed his opponent all game. The winner was Combs. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Dario Fontanez. Pittsburgh leads the National Baseball League Eastern Division by 9½ games.

Dennis Visco had a big run-scoring triple for the Industrials in the top of the sixth inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Dario Fontanez and swatted a triple to left. It was his 8th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Industrials ahead, 2-0.

"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager John Trausch.
