Sad Sack Pobladores Lose 7th Straight
George Palmer, who is tied for 5th in the ABL with a 6.7 K/9 rate, propelled his team to victory over the Los Angeles Pobladores. The final score was 9-6, Atlanta. Atlanta reliever Bill Davis picked up the win, upping his record to 7-4. Ricardo Rivera absorbed the loss. The slumping Pobladores have dropped 7 in a row.

Atlanta used the timely hitting of Don Martinez to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Generals on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We gave it the old college try," said Los Angeles manager Kurt Peterson. "But the old college try wasn't good enough."
