The Chicago Hawks got a sterling performance from pitcher Doug Smilanich, but the Seattle Emeralds still prevailed, 4-2. Smilanich threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Jeff Prestwich, now 1-2, was credited with the win in 0.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Carroll Reynolds was credited with the save. Today's win puts Seattle at 65-74, while Chicago falls to 56-84.
