The Dallas Wranglers earned a win at Bluff Park, knocking off the New York Empires, 10-4. On the bump for Dallas was left-hander Charlie Sokol. He had a starring role in the triumph. With the victory, the Wranglers upped their record to 76-62.

Mike Shreve had a big 3-run home run for the Wranglers in the bottom of the second inning. With Dallas trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a changeup from Larry Stanford, who is tied for 9th in the ABL with a 1.07 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Wranglers on top, 3-2.

"Charlie pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
