Detroit got a strong outing from William Matz as the Wolverines defeated the Baltimore Lords, 6-2, at Seton Hill Stadium. The win elevated the Wolverines to 75-65.

Detroit took the lead, 6-2, on Bob Gilley's 9th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Baltimore pitcher Gilberto Rivera in the top of the ninth.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Gilley. "Just do my job."
