Losing Trend Continues for Kansas City
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Kansas City Bulls and Milwaukee Dairymen get after it.
The Milwaukee Dairymen downed the Kansas City Bulls, 2-1, at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. Stellar pitching by Danny Guerra had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the NBL in wins with 14, handcuffed his opponent all game. The last-place Bulls have lost 7 straight games.
Larry Morford, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1966 draft, helped out the Milwaukee cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3 with a double and a walk.
Said losing manager DD Martin: "These are the grinding hard days that all good teams go through, and this is when we've got to stick together and believe in one another."
