Northmen Victorious at Seattle, 7-2
|
Twin Cities and Seattle got after it at Puget Field.
The Twin Cities Northmen picked up a win at Puget Field, knocking off the Seattle Emeralds, 7-2. Starting pitcher Bob Freeland played a key role in the triumph. Freeland, now 2-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Noland Lockhart? The Twin Cities center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Northmen on top, 3-0. For the game, Lockhart had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Northmen manager Jason Gudim.
With the win over Seattle, the Northmen improved to 60-80.
